Individual Therapy

Life is often not easy. Even when it’s good, it can be challenging. We all struggle, wonder, and do our best with all that we have been given – our families and stories, our hopes and fears, abilities and blind spots. Psychotherapy can provide a place to better understand our stories or to heal from past traumas. It can help us address challenges in our relationships or develop new and better ways of being together. It can also provide a safe space to explore ourselves, to better understand who we are, and what we want and need in order to live the life we have been given in the best way possible.
Couples/Relationship Therapy
“love relationships are emotional bonds – they’re all about the innate need for safe, emotional connection” (Sue Johnson, 2008)
Our significant relationships are as varied as we are. And while they come in all shapes, sizes, and configurations, they provide a primary grounding for each of us. My work with partnered relationships is based on Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), a relatively short-term, collaborative approach that is supported by more than 20 years of empirical research.
EFT helps us identify the patterns that develop in our relationships that can leave us feeling stuck and distant from loved ones, despite our desire for a safe, close connection. Together, we’ll focus on practical, systematic strategies that can help shift your interactions in your significant relationships, helping nurture comforting and healing connections.
